Capcom's partnership venture with J-phone / Vodaphone and mobile game development was considered a "vital" project at the time, lead by Capcom President-at-the-time, Haruhiro Tsujimoto. However, the project turned out to be a financial failure in the long run and a big loss for Capcom. Capcom designer and director, Yoshiki Okamoto (Final Fight / SF2 / Onimusha), stated in a video interview that he was opposed to the project. Even so, it's worth mentioning that these 2002-2003 phones were actually a few notches above the technology seen in comparable phones in the West! In terms of features, speed, graphics, and official licensing... the J-Phone / Vodaphone platforms were charmingly ahead of their time, but just couldn't deliver lasting relevance in the market. *This article will be updated with more information and content in the future. Warsaw, 20 October 2006 - Breakpoint, a rapidly growing publisher and developer of games for mobile phones, has just signed a publishing deal with Capcom Entertainment Europe to publish its world-famous games.

Rockman Keitai was a series of mobile phone games based on the RockMan (MegaMan in Western countries) series developed for Java phones using the i-mode technology. Some games however, were released for the iPhone and Android systems later on in the service's lifespan. These games were minigames ranging from puzzle to sports games, but the majority of them were ports of the original games either scratch-made with lower-res sprites or direct ports. The games were exclusive to Japanese phones until "MegaMan Rush Marine" was released for western audiences with a Blackberry release.

A more recent Rockman/MegaMan mobile game to be shut down was "Rockman Xover", which was a game that mixed elements of all the different MegaMan spinoff games over the years. The game itself didn't receive much praise other than the novelty of the crossover idea, and thus the game faded into obscurity until it was shut down in 2015.
